The Federico Santa María University is located in the city of Valparaíso, Region of Valparaíso, 120 km northwest of Santiago, on the Pacific coast. Valparaiso is recognized as a cultural heritage site due to its historic charm. Nearby is the city of Viña del Mar, known as the ‘Garden City’, one of Chile’s most popular beach resorts, offering excellent hotels, restaurants, and shopping areas.
The primary means of reaching Valparaíso and Viña del Mar from other regions of the country is by land transportation, specifically intercity buses. Both cities have well-connected bus terminals: the Valparaíso Bus Terminal and the Viña del Mar Bus Terminal, which receive frequent services from Santiago and other regional capitals.Additionally, if you want to travel by airplane, the region of Valparaiso is connected to Santiago’s International Airport by the Ruta 68 highway. There are several alternatives to get you from the airport to your Hotel in Valparaiso or Viña del Mar:

The easiest way to get around Valparaíso by public transport is the Metro. The closest Metro station to the university is “Portales”.
The university is located on a hill, so there are quite a few stairs to climb. If you have trouble climbing stairs, we recommend using Uber (Los Placeres 466, 2390235 Valparaíso).
The area offers a wide range of accommodation options to suit different budgets and preferences, including hotels, hostels, and furnished apartments. Recommended options include well-established hotels situated in the central areas of Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, offering easy access to the event venue and excellent connectivity. Some of these alternatives are Hotel Ibis Valparaíso, Best Western Marina del Rey in Viña del Mar, and Hotel 251. All of them have received good reviews, offer comfortable facilities, and provide appropriate services for conference attendees.
Ibis Valparaíso – This option is very close to the “Puerto” metro station.
Hotel Diego de Almagro Valparaiso – This option is very close to the “Bellavista” metro station.
